Flat cookies for shape cut outs

Ingredients
1 cup. unsalted butter
1/3 cup. granulated sugar
1/2 cup. packed light-brown sugar
1 large egg yolk
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cup. all-purpose flour
1 cup. mini chocolate chips
Instructions
Cream together butter, both sugars, and salt in a mixer.
Add vanilla and egg yolk and beat until mixed well.
Add flour one cup at a time until incorporated.
By hand, fold in the mini chocolate chips.
Roll to 1/4 inch thickness and chill before cutting into shapes.
Bake at 350 for 7-10 minutes. Remove from the oven before the first indication of the edges turning brown.
Makes about 2 1/2 dozen cookies.
