How to differentiate between genuine tiredness and laziness

Description
I am tired ALOT ... I need to figure out if this is a result of lack of good quality sleep or just sheer laziness.. So far, I haven't been able to find a good piece of information which answers this question. Please help, thank you!

Laziness is the inability to do any work, though you have strength and resources.

Fatigue/laziness can be described as continued tiredness originating from constant physical and mental stress. Fatigue also arises from Vata. For example, continuous over time work for two months may leave you fatigued. You no longer would be able to continue with the same strength and positive attitude.

I don't think there's a scientific definition of laziness, so you probably won't find any test to establish whether you are lazy. It is however possible to measure the quality of sleep. There are various mobile apps for consumers to test whether you're asleep and how deep asleep you are, based on the sound you make, measured by the microphone, (it's a start, but the accuracy of such apps is questionable). There do exist serious scientific test to measure the quality of your sleep, but most still require you to sleep in a laboratory. Philips produces many devices that are used by such labs, and has conducted such tests themselves.

There are many factors that can lead to tiredness and fatigue, including medical ones. A good overview is given by the UK National Health Service. A first step to confirm or (hopefully!) exclude a medical cause is to consult your general practitioner and ask for a blood test. Fatigue can be due to organs that struggle to keep up with their intended task (liver diseases are particularly known to make and keep you tired, especially after a meal). Another common cause are anti-immune diseases.

If you want some insight into the quality of your sleep, start with a mobile apps, but if you want confirmation of anything, including having the quality your sleep diagnosed, do consult your GP.
